The International Academy for Quality (IAQ) Marcos E. J. Bertin Quality in Governance Medal recognizes exceptional contributions to the practice or development of sound principles of good governance based on application of quality-related principals and methods.

II. Yoshio Kondo Academic Research Prize

Established in 2009

Purpose and History

Purpose and History The International Academy for Quality (IAQ) Yoshio Kondo Academic Research Prize is granted in recognition of sustained performance in exceptional published works by an Academician. This Award honors IAQ Past-Chairman and Honorary Member Dr. Yoshio Kondo for his sustained contributions to the Academy in administrative and operational capacities and his exceptional contributions to the field of quality through extensive academic research.

III. Walter E. Masing Book Prize

Purpose and History

The International Academy for Quality (IAQ) Walter E. Masing Book Prize is awarded annually to honor the memory of Dr. Walter E. Masing (1915-2004), one of its founders and an Honorary Member. Dr. Masing was a founder of both the IAQ and the European Organization for Quality (EOQ) where he served as its first president and was named an Honorary Member. He was president of the German Society for Quality (DGQ) for twenty years and was named Honorary President upon his retirement.

IV. Riccardo Dell’Anna Doctoral Dissertation Prize

Purpose and History

Dr. Riccardo Dell’Anna (1955-2005) was an exceptional example of a business-based quality Academician. He was executive vice president responsible for the automotive bearing business unit of SKF, the Swedish based multinational where he had previously served as Vice President of Quality.

V. Founder’s Medal

Purpose and History

The International Academy for Quality (IAQ) Founders Medal recognizes contributions of Academicians who have rendered especially distinguished service to the Academy in a variety of ways: administratively increasing the performance capability of the Academy, technically contributing to the quality technical or managerial body of knowledge, or publicly enhancing its prestige.
